The Monterey area is that rare natural paradise with a fun and famous city at its heart. Base yourself at our centrally located hostel to enjoy whale watching, scuba diving and kayaking on scenic Monterey Bay; or bicycling, running, or walking for miles along the coastal recreation trail. Head to pristine local beaches to spot sea lions, seals, and numerous sea-birds in the wild. Drive or take the bus to Point Lobos and Big Sur, among the most iconic and beautiful spots in America. Or, take advantage of everything the central city has to offer: just a 5-minute walk from the hostel, visit the otters at the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, follow Steinbeck’s trail to Cannery Row, or get social at a local restaurant, bar, live music show, or annual festival.
Back at the hostel, meet other travelers from across the country and across the world over free pancakes in our large kitchen, lounge around in our comfy common area, and enjoy free amenities including on-site parking, unlimited WI-FI, and spot-on local advice from our friendly staff.
