Prepare to be utterly enchanted: The Ambassade Hotel offers you a waterfront vantage point from which to immerse yourself in the wonderful atmosphere of Amsterdam’s canals. Relish the charm and comfort of an extraordinary private hotel in the heart of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

A hotel unlike any other

When it’s not a straightforward overnight stay you’re looking for, but style, ambience and individuality: The Ambassade Hotel will charm you just as it has charmed so many other discriminating guests from all around the world. The hotel comprises a unique ensemble of ten distinguished canal-side houses from the 17th century, Amsterdam’s Golden Age. The typical mansion architecture of the period is conserved in its original state; modernisations have been carried out very cautiously. That is why in the summer of 2010 Amsterdam’s canal belt was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The placement on this list signifies international recognition of the unique value and beauty of the canal district. At the Ambassade Hotel you can enjoy the glory and wealth of a bygone era, combined with all modern comforts.

Furnished for an unforgettable stay

Discreet luxury permeates the interior decoration of the Ambassade Hotel. The welcoming atmosphere in the foyer, breakfast room, library and salons comes from the tasteful combination of antiques and modern art. Carefully selected furniture, fabrics and paintings lend the rooms and suites a stylish ambience – and you’ll have wonderful dreams in the superb beds and pillows.

The better the start, the more beautiful the day

The breakfast room with its delightful view over the Herengracht (“the Gentlemen’s Canal”) invites you to celebrate the start of the day. Look forward to a breakfast that you’ll never forget – an overture with delicacies from real Dutch cheese to exquisite champagne. And if you don’t yet want to prise yourself out of the comfort of your bed in the morning, we are happy to bring your breakfast to your room.

The ideal place to explore from

The Ambassade’s central location on the Herengracht makes it an ideal place from which to explore the city. Many museums and sights can be reached on foot in just a few minutes. Likewise numerous cafés, restaurants, shopping streets and the famous Amsterdam flower market. We highly recommend trying out the locals’ most popular means of transport. That’s why the hotel also has bikes for you to rent.

A kingdom for your wishes

Holland is a kingdom. The Ambassade Hotel too – as far as the wellbeing of our guests is concerned. We want you to enjoy a personal service that is as individual as the architecture and furnishings. Our room service is there for you around the clock and serves not just breakfast, but also snacks, small dishes, desserts and drinks. Let us know your wishes, and we’ll do our utmost for you.

You dream… You wake up… The dream continues.

Whether you’re in Amsterdam on business or pleasure, at the Ambassade Hotel you’ll feel at home in this city from the word go. The rooms welcome you with their unique atmosphere; most also offer you an exclusive view of the waterways. The hotel has a total of 58 elegant rooms, including ten deluxe rooms, ten superior rooms, five suites and an apartment.

Individual, generous and cosy

The canal houses of the Ambassade Hotel are built in the 17th century. Owing to its historical architecture, no two rooms are alike at the Ambassade Hotel. This individual character is further reflected in the variety of décors and colour schemes in the rooms. But they do have certain things in common, such as luxurious furnishings in Louis XVI style. A stimulating contrast is offered by the predominantly 20th century paintings by Theo Wolvecamp and many other artists from the famous Cobra-movement. All this gives each room its inimitable atmosphere of cosmopolitan generosity and typical Dutch cosiness.

Perfect furnishings

At the Ambassade Hotel you sleep in king-size beds with quality mattresses and large pillows. Each room has a desk and a sitting area with two comfortable armchairs. The luxuriously equipped modern bathrooms all have a shower and most bathrooms also have a bath. You will find bath slippers and a broad assortment of toiletries in the bathroom. All rooms are equipped with a flat screen colour television and a telephone with voicemail plus free broadband and Wi-Fi Internet access. A safe for your valuables is likewise standard.
